Does anybody really believe texas can beat bama without a running game. IMO I dont think they can just passing the ball. Just wanted to throw that out there for everyone to mull over.

It's not likely, but anything can happen. If for some reason it turns into a track meet, then I think it is to Texas' advantage.

I have heard a couple say they had no running game, Is their passing that good?, good enough to go undefeted and are ranked #2 in the Nation.

their leading rusher has 513 yards on 102 carries and 6 TDs. Their 2nd leading rusher is McCoy with 348 yards... its safe to say that passing is their strong suit.

Texas has managed to play ugly and win all year long... I wouldn't sell them short!

Texas shouldn't even be in the game. Nebraska got Robbed! They go slo-mo instant replay and said there was one sec on the clock! I say BS There was 1 sec when the ball landed but by the time a ref would blow his whistle and wave his arms 2 or more secs would have ticked off. The refs and the BCS are trying there best to make college football like WWE Wrestling.

I have watched them play a couple of times, and never noticed them being THAT one dimensional. Although most Big Twelve teams prefer the pass.

seatider, you must keep Auburn on your mind all the time. Do they worry you that much. The forum is about Bama and Texas for the national title. Why do you have to make some comment about Auburn on every post. don't come out of the closet as and Auburn fan, we don't want you. I've heard you sing the Auburn fight song when my phone rang.

What makes teams great are balanced attacks....utilizing both the running game as well as the passing game...now, if Texas comes in with the same attitude that Utah had last season and punches our offense in the mouth early on....causes turnovers, and establishes the line of scrimmage...then, we might see a possible repeat....but, something tells me that's NOT going to happen.

I keep hearing this phrase "balanced attacked". So lets look at the numbers. Alabama is averaging 216 ypg rushing and 198 ypg passing, for roughly 414 ypg of offense. Texas is averaging 154 ypg rushing and 279 passing, for around 433 ypg of offense. Are they the power team that Alabama is on offense? No, 154 ypg isn't bad. What's more, Texas has scored 28 rushing TDs this season to Alabama 27. What that tells me is that when push comes to shove, Texas knows how to get the ball in the endzone as well as Alabama.

Do I think Texas will win? No. But I do not think Alabama will run away with it either. Let's not forget that the majority of the pressure is on the Tide. They are expected to win. Plus there is the pressure of the last 17 years (the last time they played for a NC) to contend with. Texas has been there, and won it, not 4 years ago.

I say Alabama comes out alittle shocked by the awe of it all. Texas goes up by 10, but slowly Bama gets back in it. Another long drive will put them ahead by 3 and the defense will hold from there.
